Heart Whispers – Paper Cutting Art by Liu Li
Recent Event Highlight

Heart Whispers

Liu Li was born in Wuqi, northern Shaanxi, China, and was baptized into Jesus Christ in 2003. She grew up immersed in the region’s rich folk culture and paper-cutting traditions.

Through years of artistic practice, she has transformed paper-cutting from its traditional functional role in festivals and decoration into a contemporary artistic language that carries faith, spirituality, and reflections on life.

After relocating to the United States in 2023, she created the Heart Whispers series, interpreting Christian themes through the visual language of Chinese folk art within a cross-cultural context, and continuing to bear witness to faith through paper-cutting.
