Behind the Scenes
On December 3, 2022, the Washington Art and Design Association held a preparatory conference at the
Gaithersburg Library in Maryland. The event brought together more than forty distinguished participants,
including professors from the Maryland Institute College of Art, artists from Beijing, a documentary
director from Japan, Singaporean actors, poets from New York, a Harvard University scholar, legal experts,
a press publisher, a pastor, designers, musicians, photographers, painters, and writers.
Their presence and active engagement provided tremendous encouragement and support for the association’s
future development, laying a strong foundation for collaboration and creativity across disciplines.
